You will develop your professional abilities and receive a recognised qualification.
Content
Level 2 Apprenticeship
A Level 2 course is suitable if you are new to Agriculture or have basic skills and knowledge in the subject area.
You may want to further develop your skills in order to work on a farm or progress onto a Level 3 apprenticeship course.
Focusing on the principles and practices of agriculture in a work setting, you will learn about areas of interest, such as crop production, mixed farming, live animal stock production or poultry production, which will enable you to progress into a career in farming.
We will adapt your learning programme to suit your needs, so that everyone's experience is unique. While needs differ, the recommended time to complete this programme is 24 months.
As well as the mandatory units your training advisor will work with you and your employer to select optional units relevant to your role.
Once you have completed your Level 2 Foundation Apprenticeship, you could progress onto the Level 3 Apprenticeship to advance and improve your professional skills.
Level 3 Apprenticeship
A Level 3 course is ideal if you have agricultural experience or a Level 2 qualification. It builds skills for senior farm roles or further training.
This work-based training programme focuses on the core principles and practical skills of modern agriculture. You will gain hands-on experience while developing knowledge in key areas such as:
- Crop Production
- Mixed Farming
- Livestock Production
- Poultry Production
In addition to the mandatory units, your training adviser will work with you and your employer to select optional units relevant to your job.
After completing the Level 3 Apprenticeship, it will open doors to a variety of roles such as:
- Agricultural/Horticultural Technician
- Farm Worker (Crops)
- Farm Worker (Livestock)
- Farm Manager
- Farm Secretary
The recommended time to complete the Level 3 Apprenticeship programme is 21 months.
