Advancement
Our Advancement programme is for 16-19 year olds who are ready to develop vocational skills and gain a recognised qualification. We offer a range of pathways, lasting 52 weeks, with learners working towards an NVQ/Diploma in their chosen subject area. This qualification can then lead to an Apprenticeship and being taken on as an employee, leading to a rewarding career.
At HCT, we offer Jobs Growth Wales Advancement in the following routes / subjects:
Whilst on the Advancement programme, learners will receive a £60 a week training allowance (based on a minimum of 30 hours a week), lunch allowance and can claim reasonable travel costs..
The programme is structured around 4 days in a work placement (e.g. hair salon or garage) and one day at Llanbadarn Learning Centre. During their centre-based day, learners develop their Essential Skills in literacy, numeracy, and digital literacy, while also completing the theoretical elements of their chosen qualification. During your one day a week at HCT, you will be working with other learners on the same course as yourself and this will give you an opportunity to share experiences and support each other through the course.
