Electrotechnical Installation

The course aims to provide you with the practical skills, knowledge and experience to enable you to work effectively within the construction industry. You will develop your professional abilities and receive a recognised qualification.

Core in Construction and Building Services Engineering 

As part of the Level 3 apprenticeship in Electrotechnical, you will need to complete the Level 2 Core in Construction and Building Services Engineering qualification unless you have a recognised equivalent qualification. 

The Level 2 Core in Construction and Building Services Engineering provides a thorough introduction to construction. It is for people who work in, or plan to work in these sectors. 

The core units of this qualification cover six mandatory subjects including career and employability skills, health and safety and an introduction to the construction and built environment sectors and trades. 

We will tailor your learning programme to suit your needs, so that everyone's experience is unique. While needs differ, the recommended time to complete this programme is 12 months. 

Upon completion of the Core qualification, you will be able to go and study for your Level 3 qualification in Electrotechnical as part of your apprenticeship.  

Level 3 Electrotechnical Apprenticeship

This qualification will enable you to develop your:

  • ability to effectively plan work projects using the appropriate skills for your trade in a work environment. 
  • Knowledge and understanding of the tools, techniques, materials and technologies used in your trade, and how they have changed over time.
  • employability skills and your ability to utilise them in a work environment
  • understanding of social, economic, and environmental sustainability
  • occupational performance and knowledge of your trade in a work context.

The apprenticeship framework should take you around 5 years to achieve including time spent on achieving the Level 2 Core and any required Essential Skills. 

After successfully completing this electrotechnical apprenticeship you will be able to apply for an ECS Gold Card, advance to an appropriate higher-level apprenticeship or progress in your career.
