Once you have chosen a "route" that you wish to follow, we will work with you to find a suitable work placement to enable you to progress to a Level 1 qualification (NVQ). This qualification can then lead on to an Apprenticeship and being taken on as an employee, leading to a rewarding career.
At HCT, we offer Jobs Growth Wales Advancement in the following routes / subjects:
Whilst you are doing your Level 1 course, you will receive a £55 a week allowance (for attending your work placement and HCT for a minimum of 30 hours per week) and can claim reasonable travelling expenses.
The model we use for trainees is based on a 4-day work placement and 1 day at HCT (per week) where you are given training on Essential Skills (numeracy, literacy and digital literacy) and theoretical aspects of your chosen route. During your one day a week at HCT, you will be working with other learners on the same course as yourself and this will give you an opportunity to share experiences and support each other through the course.
