Electrotechnical Services Installation
The course aims to provide you with the practical skills, knowledge and experience to enable you to become a fully qualified electrician.
HCT have a range of courses which are tailored for people wishing to enter the Industry, or for qualified electricians to gain further qualifications in their field.
Content
This Apprenticeship includes the following mandatory qualifications
Level 2 - Core in Construction and Building Services Engineering
EAL Building Services Engineering (Level 3) – Electrotechnical Installation
These qualifications will enable you to develop your:
- ability to effectively plan work projects using the appropriate skills for your trade in a
work environment
- knowledge and understanding of the tools, techniques, materials, and technologies
used in your trade, and how they have changed over time
- employability skills and your ability to utilise them in a work environment
- understanding of social, economic, and environmental sustainability
- occupational performance and knowledge of your trade in a work context.
All Apprentices will be required to satisfy the requirement of the recognised
industry end-assessment referred to as AM2S.The purpose of the AM2S assessment
is to ensure all electricians achieve a consistent standard that has been agreed by
employers across the UK as meeting their expectations for a qualified person
You may also be required to complete an Essential skills qualification in Communication, Application of Number and/or Digital Literacy .
Delivery
Day release 1 day a week at HCT Aberystwyth, 4 days a week with an employer.
The apprenticeship framework should take you around 5 years to achieve including time spent on achieving the Level 2 Core and any required Essential skills.
Programme Entry Requirements
Aged 16+ currently working in the trade area or have an offer of apprenticeship place from an employer
GCSE grade A-C in each of the following:- a communication subject, maths and either a science or technical-based subject (e.g. Design & Technology, Electronics etc) or equivalent.
All apprentices must work with a fully qualified Electrician to be able to gain this qualification.
Progression
On successful completion of this Apprenticeship in Electrotechnical Installation an apprentice will be furnished with the skills and knowledge, and have the qualifications to be a fully qualified electrician.
